Banks' grevillea, Grevillea banksii, red silky oak, Byfield waratah
Endemic to coastal eastern Australia, Grevillea banksii is a showy variant of grevillea and is parent to many new hybrids that find their place in Australian and international gardens. Because of its long-flowering season and brilliant, over-saturated blooms, grevilleas are popular with gardeners. G. banksii plants introduced to Hawaii and Madagascar have been found to have thrived and even naturalised in their new environments.
