Wedding Bush - Giclée
Whilst varieties of wedding bush are endemic to most states of Australia, Ricinocarpos pinifolius is native to the east coast of Australia. A member of one of the largest families of flowering plant species on earth, wedding bush is beloved for its astounding beauty and its scent. Blooming in late winter, it is a stunning shrub that grows as if it is a giant bridal bouquet itself. It is a popular plant amongst gardeners in Australia and proves itself to be hardy and resilient, though, like many Australian natives that have adapted to harsh conditions it requires its seeds to be pre-soaked in hot water, sometimes smoked, for a better chance at germination. If this sounds like a fussy propagation technique, consider that it is a clever result of evolution in response to natural bushfires.
